EXPLiCIT: The Ash Girl

The Caltech Players are proud to present The Ash Girl, by Timberlake Wertenbaker.

A modern feminist retelling of the Cinderella fable exploring relationships, social pressure, and the importance of finding self confidence, the play features a reimagined step-mother and step-sisters, a prince from a distant land, and animal avatars of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Directed by Miranda Stewart, it is appropriate for all ages.

Performances run Friday through Sunday, August 11‑13, and Thursday through Saturday, August 17‑19. All performances begin at 8:00 p.m.

EXPLiCIT (EXtracurricular PLayers at the California Institute of Technology) was formed in 2010 as a student- and community-run theater group dedicated to promoting theater at Caltech, producing summer performances, and providing support to Theater Arts Caltech and MACH 33: The Festival of New Science-Driven Plays at Caltech. Past productions include: Merry Wives of Windsor; Major Barbara; The Tempest; Midsummer Night's Dream; Big Love; Metamorphosis; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

This event is presented by EXPLiCIT with support from Theater Arts Caltech, Caltech Student Affairs, and others.
